The New Literary Observer publishing house and Fashion Theory Russia would like to invite you to take part in the conference held in an unusual situation, when the whole world is experiencing the height or the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The world we got used to suddenly disappeared, and the new, uncertain, totally unknown world began, where new words, new practices, new experiences and completely new meanings emerged. Self-isolation and social distancing gave birth to new habits and rituals, our bodies move differently, our wardrobes changed, masks, having become part of everyday life, instantly turned into a fashionable statement and claim to retain this function.
Together we would like to gather and discuss the situation, to share first-hand ‘field observations’, to compare different isolation experiences, and to outline potential directions in the research of the ‘new norm’.
The marathon-conference will take place on the 10th June 2020 via Zoom platform.
The working language of the conference is English.
